We were after some traditional Malaysian food for lunch and heard lots about this place so thought of trying it. Would definitely go back as we had no complaints about the food although the char kway teow portion was a little light. The only thing that we missed out on was the carrot cake as they weren’t available that day and was the main dish we wanted to try. The place is really simple and kind of nostalgic in a way back in Malaysia so don’t expect a fancy atmosphere. Toilets are available at the back and a few street parking around.

We ordered Mee goreng and Singapore fried Vermicelli. Mee goreng was ok, nothing spectacular, had better ones here in Auckland. Sg fried Vermicelli is way better than the mee goreng and it's worth ordering again. Though we were not sure if what we got is really sg fried vermicelli. Their "Sg fried vermicelli is not the usual with the curry taste. Serving is not that generous. We still going to try other items on their menu.

[Nasi Lemak Curry Chicken] Serving size is 706g including the container. Chicken is skin bone in chicken and the meat is very tender. Because the meat and the bone so tender, be cautious not to bite the bone pieces. Other than this, overall taste is pretty good.

Good food and good service. We ordered the sambal petai with prawns on rice, beef rendang on rice, Ning yong, yong tau foo, fish head noodle soup, pan mee and char kuey tiao. All were delicious and met our expectations. Char kuey tiao wad exceptionally good. Had to order a 2nd plate. The kids enjoyed the food with no complaints too. Everyone left with happy bellies.

New mgmt who's eager to please. Been there only once so far, ordered the wat tan hor, it was okay - the fried pork lard bits were slightly burnt (I did feed this back to the female owner). Jury still out on this one, as the taste wasn't outstanding, the dish was pretty standard (Gold standard for wat tan hor is the Malaysian noodle house on Wolverton st); if I'm being really honest maybe even slightly underwhelming.
Upon payment, I asked what their specialty would be, and the owner said "everything" which is overly optimistic .. and when pressed further, she did finally say "curry laksa" - so I'll give that a go next time.
